Personality:
Although rather childish and shy in private, he is better known for his icy public exterior. He will not speak in public, and neither will he allow himself to be seen in public without a full face of makeup on. He can be demanding and controlling, but he perceives these traits as necessary habits rather than flaws. He prefers night to day; he'll stay up all night watching horror movies and composing music. He rarely reaches out beyond his small group of friends for social interaction. Despite his habit of crossdressing, he neither considers himself female nor has an identity disorder. Rather, his image is dedicated to drawing attention away from gender, and focusing on the music.

History:
Mana grew up in a rigid environment. His parents were straight-laced, no-nonsense music teachers. As a teenager he was rebellious; whatever was NOT normal was what he took part in. When he began crossdressing, his parents were ashamed of him and did not approve. He moved from Hiroshima to Tokyo in his early 20s to make a living for himself as a musician, and shortly after moving he met Közi.
Music was always a huge outlet for him, emotionally and physically. By then his rebellious ways had settled down and he painted a picture of himself as a porcelain doll; to be seen but not touched. As a band leader he demanded perfection, and was not afraid to get rid of band members who could not meet his stands. By the mid-90s, his OCPD became steadily complex... eventually turning into narcissism. He refused to be seen as anything less than perfect, and began spending excessive amounts of time on his physical appearance.
His OCPD has always been rough for him; more often than not, his band members part ways with him because of artistic differences, and Mana's ideals are too rigid to be bent. It would be helpful for the doctors to work on his ability to "be human"- to make errors and allow himself to take risks. His combined OCPD and narcissism make it difficult for him to pursue relationships with others; he is highly selective. However, he loves attention and being in the spotlight... and has a peculiar addiction to the letter "M".
His obsessiveness got out of hand; to the point where he was starving himself, denying sleep in lieu of work, and spending hours on physical appearance. He was admitted to the hospital by his friends.
